- Can it be fixed?
- Usually – we repair the damage in front of us; no receipt needed for an estimate.
- Safe to fix yourself?
- Not on a bag you care about. Glue, markers and craft thread usually have to be undone.
- What decides the cost?
- The type of damage, the leather or canvas, the hardware, and how much of the bag needs work.
- Mail it in?
- Yes, from anywhere in the US.
- While you wait?
- Some small repairs, yes. Call ahead.
Which problem is it?
Most people looking for a repair without a receipt are in one of these situations:
Receipt lost or never kept
Receipts get lost, and many people never keep one for a bag they plan to own for years. Boutiques decide for themselves what they ask for. We don’t need a receipt to look at your bag, give you a free estimate and, if you agree, repair it.
Bought pre-owned, gifted or inherited
A bag bought secondhand, received as a gift or passed down in the family rarely comes with paperwork. For a repair, what matters to us is the bag’s condition: the leather, the stitching, the hardware and what you want fixed.
The boutique couldn’t take it
Sometimes a boutique can’t take a repair, or the option offered isn’t what you were hoping for. That doesn’t mean the bag can’t be fixed. An independent shop is another route, and a few photos are enough for a first opinion.
Vintage or discontinued style
Older bags often need several things at once: a tired zipper, a sticky lining, worn handles or corners, faded color. We work with what the bag needs and match leather and color as closely as we can. We can’t promise brand-original parts.
What to do right now.
- Write down everything you’d like fixed, so one estimate covers the zipper, the strap, the corners or whatever else needs work.
- Take daylight photos of the whole bag front and back, the inside, and close-ups of each damaged spot.
- Keep any loose pieces, such as a pull, a ring or a screw, together with the bag.
What not to do.
- Don’t try a DIY fix first to save a trip; glue, markers and craft thread usually have to be removed before a proper repair.
- Don’t sell a damaged bag cheaply just because one place said no – get a second opinion from photos first.
- Don’t ship the bag before you’ve sent photos; get a free preliminary estimate first, then ship it with tracking and insurance.
When it’s not worth repairing.
Sometimes an independent repair isn’t the right fit. If you need a factory repair with brand-original parts – for example, because a buyer requires it – ask the boutique directly. And if the leather or canvas is cracking or peeling all over, or the repair would cost more than the bag is worth to you, we’ll say so honestly from your photos.
How we fix it.
- We look at your bag, in person or from photos sent to (702) 622-0659 or the estimate form, and give you a free estimate without asking for a receipt.
- Once we have the bag in hand, we inspect it, confirm the price, and start only after you say yes.
- The repair covers what the bag needs: re-stitching, strap and handle work, zipper repair or replacement, new linings, patching, cleaning, color matching and refinishing.
